Currently, I am trying to understand how heterochromatin initiation & spreading are regulated in the fission yeast S. pombe. To do that, I use several approaches such as chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP), mass spectrometry and genetics to understand post-translational modifications on histones and their impact on chromatin. Since RNAi is essential for heterochromatin in fission yeast, I try to further elucidate the interplay between RNAi factors, heterochromatin and its regulators.
